What is number porting, and how does it work?

Modified on Tue, 21 Jan at 11:34 PM

Number porting, also known as mobile number portability (MNP), allows you to switch from one wireless carrier to another while keeping your existing phone number.

When you initiate a porting request with your new carrier, they will work with your old carrier to transfer your number to their network.

Once the porting process is complete, your old carrier will release your number, and it will become active on your new carrier's network.

Before doing so, please report to Tesix Wireless Network Porting Policy or report to your previous carrier porting policy for more details on porting processes.
