How do I factory reset my device?

If you're having service issues, please refer here before factory resetting your device. A Factory Reset will completely wipe your device of all data, photos and more. If you are sure you want to move forward with a factory reset, here are the steps by device type.

iPhone:

  1. Backup your data:

    • Connect your iPhone to Wi-Fi.
    • Go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud > iCloud Backup.
    • Turn on iCloud Backup and tap "Back Up Now."
  2. Disable Find My iPhone:

    • Go to Settings > [your name] > Find My > Find My iPhone.
    • Turn off Find My iPhone and enter your Apple ID password when prompted.
  3. Perform the Factory Reset:

    • Go to Settings > General > Reset.
    • Choose "Erase All Content and Settings."
    • Enter your passcode if prompted.
    • Confirm the action.

Samsung (Android):

  1. Backup your data:

    • Go to Settings > Accounts and backup > Backup and restore.
    • Enable "Back up my data" and "Automatic restore" options.
  2. Remove Google Account (optional):

    • Go to Settings > Accounts and backup > Accounts.
    • Select your Google account and remove it.
  3. Perform the Factory Reset:

    • Go to Settings > General Management > Reset > Factory data reset.
    • Read the information and tap "Reset" or "Reset Phone."
    • If you have a Samsung account, you may need to enter your password.
    • Confirm the action.

Other Android Devices:

  1. Backup your data:

    • Go to Settings > System > Backup (or similar, depending on the device).
    • Enable "Back up my data" and "Automatic restore" options.
  2. Remove Google Account (optional):

    • Go to Settings > Accounts (or similar).
    • Remove your Google account.
  3. Perform the Factory Reset:

    • Go to Settings > System > Reset > Factory data reset (or similar).
    • Confirm your screen lock (PIN, password, pattern).
    • Read the information and tap "Reset" or "Erase all data."
    • Confirm the action.
